ANCHOR YOUTH

exists to equip and motivate students in their teen years to live a life that is unashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We seek to accomplish this goal by ......

Bible Teaching

All people need to hear from God, including youth. The way God has spoken is in His Word, the Bible (Heb 1:1-3; John 16:13-15). Therefore, it is imperative that the Bible be at the very center of a church's youth ministry and be taught clearly and accurately to youth so that they can truly come to faith in Christ (Rom 10:17) and that they can grow up in all aspects of faith and life (2 Tim 3:16-17; 2 Pet 2:2; Psalm 19:7-11).

2

Prayer

Prayer has always saturated the church from its beginning (Acts 2:42). Therefore, as a ministry of the church, youth ministry should be filled with prayer. Prayer should be performed by the church for the youth, with the youth, and by the youth.

3

Intentional Activities

Youth are active and events should be planned for them to work that energy. Yet activity for activity sake is worthless. Therefore, all activities and events planned for our youth are planned with the intention of memory-making and discipleship.

4

Supporting Parents

Parents have the God-given responsibility to discipline their children in the ways of the Lord (Eph 6:4; Prov 1:8). Anchor Youth, then, is meant to be a help to the parents by coming alongside them to help disciple their teens.

5

Local Church

Anchor Youth is a ministry of Anchor Bible Church and not its own entity. As such, Anchor Youth Ministry is to help the Christian student to love the church because of the vital importance that Jesus made the local church to be for the Christian (1 Cor 12-13; Eph 5:25-27 ; Heb 10:23-25).
